How To Play

You are invited to take up residence at Bicker Manor with me and my parents Eve and Isambard, who will take you on a journey that playfully challenges you to take part in a series of “environmental” missions.

Over the course of a few weeks Eve and Isambard will pose questions, ask you to take pictures, make videos, and measure a few things. By helping them, you’ll learn some interesting things about “green living” and see how your views and habits compare to others.

Signing up

This website is at the heart of Bicker Manor. To become part of my extended family and get involved you’ll need to sign up and pick a side… Eve or Isambard.

Once you’ve signed up we’ll send you an email to confirm your registration, after which you can sign in and get started. Be sure to check out your profile, because you’ll need to decide how we can contact you. You can choose to play on your mobile, and whether to receive updates from me by email.

Bicker Manor is free to play online and on BT Vision. But, if you play on your mobile using SMS/MMS then your standard network rates will apply.

So how does the game work?

Eve and Isambard have missions to give you. These range from mini missions that can be answered in a few seconds, to mega missions which are a bit more involved and may take a little bit more thought and effort. For those that want to do even more, there are ‘extra’ mission that can be done in between.

You can see the missions that Eve and Isambard give you on the website and on BT vision. If you’ve registered you phone to receive SMS messages from us, you’ll be able to do the daily mini missions and you’ll be notified when mega missions are available.

Points are awarded for everything you complete. The amount of points gives you a clue as to how involved the mission is. The points you earn also gets added to Eve or Isambard overall score.

What about mobile?

To play on your mobile you first register your phone on the website in the ‘Your Profile’ area. You’ll then get the daily mini missions sent directly to your phone as an SMS from your chosen host character. You’ll also receive the occasional update from me. You can choose to reply to the mini missions using SMS or play them on the web or on BT Vision.

Registering your phone will also enable you to use MMS to send videos or images directly to ‘Your Media’ area. This media can then be linked to a missions, and form part of a response back to your host character.

What about BT Vision?

Well, BT Vision is quite new. Using BT Vision you’ll be able to try out some of the missions and browse for extra ones, link media to missions that you’ve previously uploaded to missions using you mobile or website, and check out other people’s response to missions… their videos, picture and answers to questions… all from the comfort of your sofa… how relaxing.

Make your way to BT Vision > Interactive > On Vision > Lifestyle > Packages > blue button > Bicker Manor Trial (We're 7th in the list). It would be great if you try it out in BT Vision, but the web is the minimum you’ll need to take part.

What about email?

If you sign up for email messages, you will be sent updates from my family about new missions or events that you might want to check out on the web… or on BT Vision if you have that. You don’t have to sign up for emails, but they’re a handy way to keep up to date.

What about errors and things that go wrong?

Well I can’t guarantee that this will be a completely glitch free experience. If you find out some bugs or things you think could work better, I’d love to hear from you. Drop me an email at Michaela@bickermanor.com

Me and my support team will try and solve issues I think we can mend before the end of the experiment, but others might need to go on our big list of the things we want to improve for next time around… if we only had more time ;-)
